Red Robe

Jacket - Shutterbug Vintage// Fedora - Zara// T-shirt - All Saints//Watch - Marc by Marc Jacobs//
Boots - Schuh

You can always trust a faithful jacket to add that somethin' somethin' to an outfit.
That little lift that takes an ensemble from typical and generally uninteresting to something more, well, interesting!
I'm a self-professed die-hard jacket girl, so much so, I've a full wardrobe section and a free standing rail dedicated to just jackets and coats alone!

This outfit is typical of a jacket doing absolute justice to an otherwise, boring and abysmal jeans and t-shirt situation. This gem is in fact a man's dress robe, a French vintage dress robe at that, which I absolutely adore! I picked up this baby on a recent vintage buying expedition to Paris, and have worshipped it ever since.
Topped off with a fedora and some gold accented jewellery, it transformed a dull rainy-day outfit into something just a little more!

Let's Play Ball!

There's nothing better than the delight you can get from picking up a truly unique, original and downright AWESOME item of clothing!
Behold the jacket of jackets...
This baby is by the Ragged Priest vintage concession, which i nabbed in Topshop Oxford Circus just recently.
Take an old school sports jersey, attach vintage scarves to make the sleeves and hey presto - this beauty came to life!
Super comfortable, the right balance of girl meets boy, and down right amazing (in my humble opinion!)

I teamed my jacket with this vintage glitter smock dress from Shutterbug Vintage and my Jeffrey Campbell Coltrane Spike boots (the shoe of shoes - not kidding!) from Folkster for work and thought hmmm...blogworthy :)

Instagram Diary

I've been a busy bee lately and have been slow on the blogging front the past few weeks.

That being said I've been very active on Instagram AND I have been taking lots of #OOTD photos, so much so I'm proud of myself!

So here is an Instagram round up of some of my recent outfits.
All a mix of vintage pieces from Shutterbug vintage and Folkster.com

I am blogging regularly over on Folkster.com where you can check out what I'm up to and even see my daily rigouts.

Until next time...!

Inner Hippie

Love. Want. NEED.
Need me some sunshine and decent summer weather.
Need to exude my inner hippie.
Need to dress like all of the above.

Floaty, free-spirited and fun - I am inspired!
Don the chiffon and lace, break out the espadrilles, clash textures and prints in the hope of creating unique, bohemian-esque ensembles to see me through spring and onwards to summer.
CANNOT WAIT!

OVERDUE

It's been a while, it's been a busy busy busy ole while, and I apologize profusely for my blogging absence. See this 'real world' business where one is, ahem, all grown up, has a real world full-time job and a crazy schedule, is certainly hectic! In the midst of all this, my blogging has sort of slipped by the wayside. Not for lack of good intentions nor hopelessly missing my regular fashion rants, life has just gotten in the way a little bit.
BUT, I will not give up! I will make the time, multi task my actions and ensure my little fashion outbursts continue.

So for now, a short instagram round up, featuring some adventures, some outfit pics and other random things!

(L-R: Daily organisation - diary, phone, purse; OOTD feat. sequins and fedora; Spoof Chanel Sweatshirt; OOTD feat. florals and sequin skirt; Snowy morning outside my house; OOTD feat. American Apparel coat; Nude nail polish; My new book - Grace; OOTD feat. American Apparel coat and new scarf; My gorgeous new scarf I received as a special gift )

So here's to a new start, reviving my blog and keeping up with the fashion fancies.

Lunching Ladies

Today I attended a charity lunch and fashion show in aid of Lotus Child, in Fire Restaurant in Dublin.
My friend and fellow blogger, Líosa Bruder was so kind to ask me along to what was a wonderful afternoon. Yummy food, fabulous company and of course let's not forget the fashion made for a great day.
It also gave us a chance to catch up, and it wouldn't be like us bloggers not to take a few outfit snaps now would it?
I dared to wear my new trousers to the event today. From Zara, they are a chiffon-like material, quite see-through, with a shorts inset in them. Not a usual choice for me, given that I do love my colour but I LOVED wearing them today. Billowing, swaying, sashaying they made me feel as special as I do wearing skirts and dresses!
So anybody willing to embrace the trouser trend this season...do it!

Ladies of the Rings

Caggie: Turquoise rings, multi-couloured nails and a nice bit of arm candy

Rosie: A creative minimalist. Gold band rings courtesy of Margiela @net-a-porter

I'm not one to get hooked on reality TV shows (ahem...I never followed The Hills or The City, I swear!)
but I've only recently been able to catch the remarkable 'Made In Chelsea.'

Their snobbery and fake 'kiss babes lols' greetings do grate on my nerves just a little but I still find the whole thing quite enjoyable.
Enviable wardrobes, thanks Daddy, that are strictly not high street really do make me swoon.
Some characters wearing run of the mill, 'I have lots of money so I shall wear designers on my forehead' but there are a few who have an original authentic sense of style.
My favourites being Caggie and Rosie, two of the characters who have a sort of creative, alternative, inspiring sense of style and a very keen eye for selecting a good set of rings.
This is where my swooning begins.

Caggie sports two rings, one larger than the other with turquoise stones, perfectly offset by her quirky multicoloured nail varnish, which I adore.

Rosie on the other hand is known for her signature three rose gold rings which are by Maison Martin Margiela btw, but they are in fact pretty awesome.

I know what's on my lust list this Christmas...though I might have to settle for something a little less...couture!

Collars Up!

I have always had a soft spot for Alexa Chung.
She really is a darling and her style choices are truly unique.
It is very hard to attain a low maintenance, carefree, natural look but yet seem polished and put together.
She always looks great without looking as if she is trying too hard.
An innate sense of style with a classic take on trends, a love of everything vintage, with a tomboy twist.
SWOON!

So I haven't been...ahem...been stalking, but it appears that Alexa's new 'thing' seems to be high neck-lines and collars.
Always a huge fan of the collar, it seems to me like she is sporting this style more and more.
She wears them well while staying true to her signature style ways.

Add a cover of both Harpers Bazaar UK and Australia to her recent activities and I'm in awe!

On Wednesday's we wear...PINK (aka red!)

I think it is about time I do an outfit post. Well overdue I say.
Given that summer has finally come to Ireland in late September, the atmosphere in Dublin city today was quite immense.
The place was alive with people, an abundance of ice-cream and smiles all round...delighted with life.
I decided to take in some rays and basked in the sunshine in St. Stephen's Green during my lunch and my was it a picturesque setting.
So guess what I did???
Took some pictures! YAY!

I was however absolutely roasting in my jeans but no matter, still looks ok.
Also apologies for the quality of the images, they were shot on my phone.

This is what I wore to work in Stellar today. We spent the day pulling looks for a 'geek chic' shoot taking place tomorrow. Lots of walking around, lots of sweating but I really enjoyed it.

New Found Treasure

The past few weeks, I've been wandering around the shops, you know the same old same old shops, the old reliables, the ones where EVERYBODY shops?????
I want different.
I want individual.
I want mine!
I have discovered the hidden treasure chest that is Anarchy Street, and my, do they resonate my personal almost identically!
It's uncanny.
They stock retro-look, vintage-inspired, laid-back items that scream California chic at you.
Prices are not bad either. Fabulous jewelry and unique pieces this is going to be a definite stop shop for me from now on.
I think a break from the high street is a must whilst vintage shopping entices me and online havens meet my taste my fashion habits are undergoing a bit of a change.
Anarchy Street - a definite for the 'lust list.'

All I need now is an overflowing bank account and all will be right in the world! YUM!

Turquoise Tantrum

Just a quick outfit post before I head off to the land of nod.
This blazer is teasing me, I don't really know what to wear it with.
I am struggling...
I threw it on over these floral jeggings and black jersey tank but I'm not convinced.
I found this treasure in Camden market about 6 weeks back and this was my first time to wear it. Totally ecstatic when I first saw it, the excitement it would bring to me wardrobe and now....nothing, nada, zero...the inspiration and flow of ideas is null and void.

I am truly open to any suggestions as to how you would wear it!
Help me please!
