Role Reversal

I'm normally like 'rain rain go away' but home confinement is allowing me a much needed break.
More importantly a chance to write a new post...finally!

So this post is a little different than usual. I wanted to turn my hand at styling someone other than myself (my wardrobe and I are at loggerheads at the moment, I'm stuck in a rut!).
Who better to style than your own, so I grabbed my big little brother (he's only 17) and made him trendy.
With an occasion coming up he asked for my help and here are the results.

I veered away from denim and chose a pair of beige chino-type pants that are slightly more slouchy than the norm. Keeping denim in some format I opted for a denim shirt to keep it casual yet put together. Pair a basic striped t-shirt and there you have a casual party look. I think this is a great day time look too.

Then for the more Wintry of occasions, I'm talking Christmas events and so on, don't look any further than a fair isle jumper. I love this look. The denim shirt peeping out and the beige pants give a smart casual outfit.

We had a role reversal, usually he takes my photos, so I would love to know what you guys think of my male 'model'!!!

Collars Up!

I have always had a soft spot for Alexa Chung.
She really is a darling and her style choices are truly unique.
It is very hard to attain a low maintenance, carefree, natural look but yet seem polished and put together.
She always looks great without looking as if she is trying too hard.
An innate sense of style with a classic take on trends, a love of everything vintage, with a tomboy twist.
SWOON!

So I haven't been...ahem...been stalking, but it appears that Alexa's new 'thing' seems to be high neck-lines and collars.
Always a huge fan of the collar, it seems to me like she is sporting this style more and more.
She wears them well while staying true to her signature style ways.

Add a cover of both Harpers Bazaar UK and Australia to her recent activities and I'm in awe!

Under the Sea

His royal highness, Karl Lagerfeld presented the Chanel Spring Summer 2012 collection last night in Paris. The highlight for most at Paris Fashion Week, and it is no wonder why.
The spectacular runway show incorporated an underwater theme with the stage emblazoned in giant oyster shells and underwater features.

The clothes, one might say, are a dream.
Utterly classic with a modern contemporary twist makes the line very wearable yet it screams signature Chanel in a very subtle manner.
Covering a multitude of styles from sports luxe, classic tweeds, leather shorts and angelic swimwear to dreamy chiffon dresses, elfin-like materials and sumptuous colour the line really does concur with something for everyone.

I love how classic cream dresses and suits in simple cuts with signature pearl embellishment is suddenly contrasted with multi-colored soft sequined scalloped dresses, then insert flamingo skirts with soft modern-take military jackets (loving turquoise and salmon colour combination!) and nude leather shorts with oversized cardi's (a fresh, lighter take on androgyny of this season).

All I can say is WOW!
I am pretty mesmerized by this line (can't you tell??) and it's nude and pastel palette as a whole really adheres to my style ideals.
Also the line of models was genius, I'm a big fan.
Add Florence Welch singing in a giant-sized oyster shell and hey presto, magic!
Props to my man Karl!
