Thrills and Spills: Outfit Post!

I'm quite excited about this post mainly because it is my first half decent outfit post!
As I have said time and time again, being without camera lets me down so I need to beg, borrow and steal before I can get some decent pictures whilst wearing an outfit worth capturing.
Alas, it is here!
Ahem, excuse the posing...

I went out for drinks last night with my two close friends Aoife and Naomi.
A casual occasion by all means. A girls night well earned.
Not usually one for the jeans, the tables turned and I donned this new pair of khaki's from Forever 21 - they fit like a dream. I teemed them with a plain top with scalloped neckline, a colourful and floral (of course) blazer, brown leather boots, belt and bag, and a bunch of rings and bangles.
Appropriate for the adventure that lay ahead.

Hope you like it!

Oh to dance...sigh!

Let me start by saying this is a sad sad time for me...
Knowing that this time last year I was living it up in Las Vegas, experiencing the World Hip Hop Championships and training my butt off to compete with my team upsets me something awful.
This year marks the 10th anniversary of HHI World Hip Hop Championships and five Irish teams have flown across the pond to represent.
I would honestly remark on the ten day experience in Vegas as the best of my life.
Seeing the results updates, the vlogs, the crews, the FUN, makes me well up - I'm serious.

So...
I have decided to combine my misfortune with my passion for dance and fashion and bring you this slightly outlandish fashion post:
the best of hip hop couture!
Since most of the time is spent in comfy tracksuits and basketball shorts (yes I do own several pairs) you want to look good and not like a boy!
Here is my selection of the good bits that give a flava of the style that is seen around the otherwise lavish surroundings of the Red Rock Resort and Casino.
Street meets loungewear meets crazy colours - love it! Crew names emblazoned across your shirt as a shout out of respect to the best.

PS. Hip hop aside I really REALLY like that coloured check blazer.

That's enough for now, don't want to dwell on it too much...sniff sniff tear :(

Big shout out to all the Irish teams, especially Lil Hustlers and the Ghetto Fabulous teams featuring my bessie mate Lisa and her gorgeous girls!

Here's a snippet of the opening ceremony and orientation from this years competition, enjoy the hot topless New Zealanders:

AND last years winners, the almighty all girl crew, Request:

ENJOY!

Dare to be Different

Introducing my new obsession: Jeffrey Campbell shoes!!!
My oh my aren't these beauties creative and amazing and utterly brilliant?
Just a few weeks ago, as I embarked on my daily browse on lookbook.nu I realised that this girl Anna Wiklund has probably the most coveted wardrobe of shoes (and gorgeous clothes)...an endless supply of Jeffrey Campbells!
To say I'm just a tad jealous is a dramatic understatement.
But I am indeed in love.
These shoes come in an array of styles, colours, textures, heights each one more eccentric and unique as the next.
Priced reasonable between $145-$175 dollars on average, they surely are investment items that will brighten up any wardrobe.
I'm currently contemplating making the bold move and purchasing even if it means I don't eat for the guts of a month!
My absolute favourites are the leopard print ankle boots with pony hair and fuchsia pink toe caps - magnifique!
I wouldn't say no to the tapestry style either.
From intergalactic space gliders to yeti boots, Mr. Campbell surely mixes up the wacky and the wonderful.

Welcome to the family...

On a recent expedition to Birmingham with my bessie mate Aoife, retail therapy was indeed availed of in excess!!!
Over the past few months I've been compiling a 'lust list' - a list of items i am willing to save up for, buy and savour for years to come.
Of course the list featured a brown leather vintage-esque handbag. Surprisingly this one hails from New Look!! Priced at just £22 it was a steal!
Now its no Mulberry buffalo satchel...sigh...but it is real leather, gold embellished details and has two separate compartments to fit perfectly my phone, purse, notebooks,  mini magazines, lipsticks, perfume - the lot!
What more can you ask for???
I'll tell you...
Kurt Geiger boots!!!!!!!
For a long time this range of shoes have been teasing me from the shelves but low and behold, Sinead enters the picturesque Solihull shopping centre to find these Carvela beauties on sale!! Brown leather...check, platform heel...check, gold studding...check, comfortable...hell yeah!!!
They're an absolute dream to wear.
Bagged myself at least 4 compliments on Grafton St just yesterday with onlookers admiring The Shoes!
Proud as punch! Best part was paying for them thinking the were £69 as on price tag but were reduced further to wear£59 - 60% off! Amazeballs!
Hope you like my new arrivals...i might call one Three and the other Pearl just cos i can...ahem Im a bit of a big deal don't you know...ahem (!!!!)

'No..we didn't get a photo!!!'

On Friday night I was truly honoured to possess my first official press invitation to meet the idyllic Whitney Port.
Yes...yes...she truly is as beautiful, if not more beautiful as she appears on TV - sickener, I know.
How and ever, being an avid follow (ahem...stalker) of Whitney, I HAD to be there!
One road trip to Kildare Village with my best friend Aoife, and there we were in the company of Whit.
Launching the Summertime Festival @ Kildare Village and her canvas tote bag in aid of Barretstown children's charity, Whitney turned out in a simple black maxi dress with a halter neck strap, black wedge ankle boots, a cream tweed effect jacket with black trimmings from her own Whitney Eve line, and her arms were adorned with oversized cuffs embellished with muted jewels and stones.
She perfectly captured the right balance between festival fashion and classic style.
She looked every inch the hot babe, that much cannot be denied.

Whitney addressed avid fans, signed her exclusive tribal print tote, and posed for paps.
Raging I didn't queue with those said fans...at least they got a picture with her.

Back in the hospitality lounge we stood chatting, mingling, eating posh fancy finger foods and waiting for Whitney to return so that we could pounce on her for photos and autographs.
It was not meant to be.
Tired and tormented at the prospect of getting to stand beside her, we retired to the couch to come up with a Plan B.

Low and behold, we were not the only ones.
Stellar's own Dillon gasped how he felt like a prostitute in the hope of securing just one quick signature - I giggled.
So true! Once chatting to him, I didn't feel so bad, we were all in the same boat.
He did however brighten up our night saying that at least the pair of us looked as if we could be a part of Whitney's world - delighted with life!

The chats were had, the laughs in abundance, and 'hugsies' galore!
I even learned how Whitney received a proposal from Dillon's mate as she forced her copper ring on the star's wedding finger - priceless!

We may not have gotten a pap with the star of the moment but we were buzzing on our journey home!
